About
I am Menuka Gayashan Wijayananda, a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in the water and wastewater sector. My primary expertise is in mechanical design, including MEICA design, pumping systems, water treatment plants, P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, technical specifications, BOQs, equipment selection, and project delivery from concept through commissioning. I have worked on new-build, rehabilitation, and upgrade projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical and efficient engineering solutions.
In addition to my design background, I also have hands-on operational experience at a large water treatment plant. This includes operating and maintaining pumps, motors, SCADA systems, electrical and control systems, instrumentation, VSDs, generators, and other mechanical equipment. This practical experience has given me a strong understanding of plant operations, reliability, maintainability, and how design decisions impact real-world performance.
I recently relocated to the UK from Sri Lanka and am actively seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer position where I can apply both my design expertise and practical operational knowledge. I have the right to work in the UK and am available to start immediately.
