On behalf of our client we are recruiting for a Senior Nuclear Safety Consultant
Location: Warrington or Abingdon (hybrid)
As a Nuclear Safety Senior Consultant, you will deliver and help lead nuclear safety documents, across the full lifecycle of nuclear operations, for a variety of clients.
Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering consultancy that meets, and exceeds the expectations of the client, in regard to technical excellence and the quality of deliverables.
- Delivering consultancy that meets, and exceeds the expectations of the client, in terms of timescales and cost, in a way that supports the long-term growth of the business and its reputation.
- Providing nuclear safety advice and guidance in multi discipline projects interfacing with engineers, human factors specialists and other disciplines.
- Developing and present robust and reasoned arguments in a rational and coherent manner.
- Provide technical checking and/or verification for technical / compliance / thoroughness of argument / QA standards.
- Liaising with all concerned on technical progress.
- Taking documents through the earlier stages of client governance.
- Supporting stakeholder management internally and for clients.
- Work with the Business Development Team to Identify opportunities with clients to develop the business.
- Minimum of 5 years professional engineering/technical specialist experience.
- Have a degree or equivalent in engineering, science or related field of study.
- Understanding of the safety case production process and methodologies for more than one client.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and experience in the management and production of complex safety cases, for a number of plant types at different lifecycle stages, as part of a team, demonstrating the capability to work unsupervised within a team.
- Familiarity with areas such as decommissioning, optioneering, best practice, human factors, radioactive materials transport, licensing, radioactive waste.

The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the UK, and be willing to undergo a security vetting process. Offers of employment will be subject to relevant security clearance being granted. Close working relationships with other sites and client sites may be required, which necessitates regular travel to those sites (dependent upon project & client requirements).
